Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-05-08.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of undergradly.org (the "Site"). The Site is an editorial publication that analyzes federal higher-education data; it is not a financial, legal, or admissions advisory service. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Site you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. The Terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

2. Editorial nature of the Site

Undergradly is an editorial publication. The verdicts, rankings, ratings, and analyses on the Site reflect our editorial judgment applied to publicly available federal data — including IPEDS, the College Scorecard, Census PSEO, BLS, and Opportunity Insights. They are not statements of fact about any institution's future performance, nor guarantees about the outcomes any individual student will experience.

Different reasonable analysts can reach different conclusions from the same underlying data. Where we make disputable choices — weights, thresholds, definitions, blendings — we disclose them on the methodology page.

3. Not professional advice

Information on the Site is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, legal, tax, career, or admissions advice and does not create any advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship.

Decisions about which college to attend, which major to pursue, how much to borrow, whether to transfer, or any other consequential life choice are yours to make. You should consult appropriate professionals — financial aid officers, certified financial planners, school counselors, attorneys, or tax advisors — for guidance specific to your circumstances.

4. Data accuracy & freshness

The federal datasets that power the Site are released on annual or biennial schedules and lag the present by one or more years. Source agencies revise prior releases, suppress small cells for privacy, and occasionally publish corrections. We make a reasonable effort to refresh content on a known cadence and to mark pages with their generation timestamp, but we make no guarantee that any specific number is current, complete, or free of error at the moment you read it.

If you rely on a number from the Site for a high-stakes decision, verify it against the originating federal source. Our data sources page lists every source with a direct link.

5. Content & intellectual property

The original editorial content of the Site — written analysis, page layouts, design, code, and selection and arrangement of data — is the intellectual property of Undergradly. Underlying federal data is a public-record input and is not claimed as ours. Trademarks, logos, and institution names referenced on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only; their use does not imply endorsement.

You may view, share, and quote short excerpts of the Site for personal, educational, or journalistic purposes with attribution and a link back. You may not scrape, mirror, redistribute substantial portions of the Site, or use Site content to train machine-learning models without prior written permission. Personal browser-based use of the Site (including via browser-integrated AI assistants for individual research) is permitted.

6. Your submissions

If you email us with corrections, feedback, or suggestions, you grant Undergradly a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that content to improve the Site and to publish it (in whole or in part, with or without attribution as you indicate) on the affected pages. Do not send us anything you consider confidential or proprietary.

7. Third-party links and services

The Site links to external websites — federal data sources, college websites, academic resources — that we do not own or control. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement. Your use of any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.

Some links on the Site may be affiliate links to free or low-cost student tools. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where they appear and never affect rankings, verdicts, or which colleges, majors, or pathways the Site covers. See our funding disclosure for details.

8. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

9. No warranty

THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR AVAILABILITY. YOU USE THE SITE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UNDERGRADLY AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, EARNINGS, DATA, OR EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THE SITE OR ITS CONTENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Undergradly and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The "Last updated" date will reflect the change. Continued use of the Site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability & entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Undergradly regarding your use of the Site.

14. Contact
